Pro Lighting Fixtures

Up to five (5) professional lighting fixtures may be patched in Mbox Designer. Like the Ambient and Spot fixtures, they
have adjustable intensity and color controls. Also, while the Ambient and Spot fixtures are in fixed positions with a
pre-determined beam spread, pro lighting fixtures can be moved and also adjusted between spot and ambient beam
spreads.

Guidelines:

+

Enabling one or more pro lighting fixtures will disable all of the standard lighting fixtures.

+

While the position of pro lighting fixtures is adjustable, they will always point towards the center of the Mbox 3D
environment (XYZ = 0,0,0).

+

In order to utilize these pro lighting fixtures, they must be configured with the "Lighting: Pro" preference in the
Mbox Remote application. (Refer to the Mbox Remote User manual for more information.)

To configure:

Step

1. Using Mbox Remote, open Mbox Server Preferences window (for the desired server).

Step

2. At "Lighting: Pro" text field, enter configuration options using the following syntax:

<Number of Fixtures>,<Universe>,<Start Address> *

The example above will patch five pro lighting fixtures on control universe 101, each starting at addresses of
1, 10, 19, 28, and 37. (See below for more guidelines.)

Step

3. Restart Mbox. (Mbox must be restarted before the configuration will take effect.)

* Configuration Details:

+

Each pro lighting fixture uses 9 channels.

+

Number of fixtures is a number between 1 and 5.

+

Universe is a number between 0 and 255, equal to the 0-based index of the control universe.

+

Start Address is the address of the first parameter of the first lighting fixture on the selected universe. There must
be enough addresses to encompass all of the configured fixtures' control channels. For example, it is not possible
to start 5 fixtures (45 channels total) at start address 501 (only 12 available addresses).

For a complete channel map, refer to

"Pro Lighting"

on page 184.
