22) Remove air box mounting stud on
driver’s side fender with cutoff wheel.
Proceed to cut tab from the side of the
shock tower, then bending tab back to
gain clearance to cut back side of tab.
23) Use a soft blow mallet to tap the battery cable
mounting post back towards firewall to provide
adequate clearance for air filter assembly. Reinstall
black battery post mount, and red terminal cover
when finished.
24) After cutting, area should look like this. You can
cover exposed metal with black silicone (supplied) as
shown, or grind flat and cover with primer and / or
body colored spray paint to prevent exposed metal
from rusting.
