Frequently asked questions

Question: What type of batteries can be used with the kit?
Answer: Any 12 V/33 Ah battery that is used for cars, boats,
motor cycles, etc.
Question: Will the solar panels over-charge my battery?
Answer: The charge regulator ensures that a steady charge
is supplied to the battery and will not be over-charged.
Question: Can I extend/lengthen the battery lead?
Answer: If the lead is extended this can result in a loss of voltage
and insuffi cient power transferred from the solar panels to charge
the battery.
Question: How do I clean the solar panels?
Answer: Dust & dirt should fi rst be swept off the panel surface
using a soft brush then using a wet cloth to wipe the panel surface
to remove remaining dirt & grime. It is recommended that any bird
droppings be removed as soon as possible as if left can cause
damage to the surface.
Question: Is the solar panel kit water proof?
Answer: It is recommended that the kit is not exposed to exces-
sive water as all components apart from the solar panel are not
water proof.

Maintenance

Very little maintenance is required to keep the inverter and

charge regulator operating properly. Clean the housing periodi-
cally with a damp cloth to prevent accumulation of dust and
dirt.

The surface of the solar panel should be kept clean by periodi-

cally wiping it with a soft cloth to ensure best performance.

During long-term storage without being charged, the battery

must be completely recharged every 4-6 months in order to
preserve complete and proper performance.
