Vegetables

W

hether fresh or frozen, vegetables retain their flavour, colour and crispness with

microwave cooking. Due to the shortened cooktime, nutritional value is preserved. Just
a couple of tablespoons of water are necessary for cooking.

C

over dishes with a plate, the lid

of the container or special
microwave-able plastic wrap. It is
preferable to season at the end of
the cooktime.
Asparagus and fresh green beans
are not well suited to microwave
cooking due to their texture, which
requires blanching to soften the
fibers.
However, once blanched, frozen
asparagus and green beans turn
out well when heated up in the
microwave.
