Maintenance and Troubleshooting

Printed colors

Printed colors will not exactly match the colors on your monitor,
since printers and monitors use different color systems: monitors
use RGB (red, green, and blue), while printers typically use
CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, and black). Check your software
and printer documentation, or contact your printer company, for
information on color matching and calibration.

Scanned image is too large.

Select

as the Destination setting. See “Selecting a

Destination” on page 2-9 for instructions. In some applications, if
you select a printer as the Destination setting, the print will appear
in the correct size even if the image is enlarged on the screen.

The printed image is larger or smaller than the original.

The image size settings of your software determine the size of the
printed image. Do not use the size of the monitor image to judge
the printed size.

Scanned images cannot be printed or come out garbled
when printed.

❏ Make sure your printer is properly connected to the

computer, correctly set up, and maintained. See your printer
manual for details.

❏ Check that your software is properly installed. For installation

instructions, see “Installing the Software” in Chapter 3 of your
online Setup Guide.

The colors of negative film images look strange when
