To Set the Phase Deviation

The phase deviation is the deviation of the phase of the modulating waveform

relative to that of the carrier waveform and the unit is rad.

Press FM/øMDeviation to set the

Φ

M phase deviation.

 Use the numeric keyboard or knob to input the desired phase value.
 The different RF frequency setting corresponds to different maximum phase

deviation.

To Select the Modulation Waveform

Press FM/øMSource to select “Int” or “Int & Ext” modulation source; use the
page up/down key

to open the 2/2 menu page and press Waveform to select

“Sine” or “Square” and the default is “Sine”.

NOTE:

When “Ext” modulation source is selected, this menu is grayed out and

disabled.

To Set the Modulation Frequency

Press FM/øMSource to select “Int” or “Int & Ext” modulation source; press

Rate to set the frequency of the modulating waveform.
 Use the numeric keyboard or knob to input the desired frequency value.
 For sine waveforms, the range of the modulation frequency is from 100 mHz to 1

MHz.

 For square waveforms, the range of the modulation frequency is from 100 mHz

to 20 kHz.

NOTE:

When “Ext” modulation source is selected, this menu is grayed out and

disabled.
