Note –

The network management port is a 10/100BASE-T port. The IP address

assigned to the network management port is a unique IP address, separate from the
main server IP address, and is dedicated for use only with the ILOM service
processor.

To Activate the Network Management Port

1. Connect an Ethernet cable to the network management port.

2. Log in to the ILOM service processor through the serial management port.

See the ILOM user’s guide for instructions.

3. Type one of the following commands:

If your network uses static IP addresses, type:

The values of the IP address, IP netmask, and IP gateway are examples. Use

the values that are appropriate for your installation.

-> set /SP/network state=enabled

Set ’state’ to ’enabled’

-> set /SP/network pendingipdiscovery=static

Set ’pendingipdiscovery’ to ’static’

-> set /SP/network pendingipaddress=10.8.31.163

Set ’pendingipaddress’ to ’10.8.31.163’

-> set /SP/network pendingipnetmask=255.255.252.0

Set ’pendingipnetmask’ to ’255.255.252.0’

-> set /SP/network pendingipgateway=10.8.31.248

Set ’pendingipgateway’ to ’10.8.31.248’

-> set /SP/network commitpending=true
