9.1. MicroTouch Touch Driver Installation
9.1.1. Two types of MicroTouch touchscreens
MicroTouch manufactures both capacitive and resistive
touchscreens.
² Capacitive touchscreen has a cable harness taped to
the edge. The cable exits from the middle of the
right side of the screen. This cable connects to the
touchscreen controller.
² Resistive touchscreen has a small cable tail that also
exits from the right side of the screen. The
touchscreen kit includes an extension cable. One
end of the extension cable connects to the
touchscreen and the other end connects to the
touchscreen controller.
Although the two kinds of touchscreens look slightly
different, the process of installing the touchscreen onto
OPEN (660) system and to install the software driver are
the same.
