1. Set up the RECORD SETUP parameters. (See page 30)

2. Set the normal recording parameters with STANDARD

MODE. (See page 31)

3. Check to confirm that the indicator for TIMER/MODE is

extinguished.

„ Press the [REC/STOP] button.

• Recording will be started.

„ Press the [REC/STOP] button for approximately two

consecutive seconds.

• Recording will be stopped.

The desired REC PATTERN mode can be set with the

[TIMER/MODE (REC PATTERN)] setting on the [RECORD

SETUP] screen (select from REC PATTERN 1 to 9).

2. Set the normal recording parameters with [REC

PATTERN 1 to 9]. (See page 31)

3. Exit the MENU screen and press [TIMER/MODE]

button.

• The TIMER/MODE indicator will be illuminated.

„ Press the [REC/STOP] button.

• Recording will be started in accordance with each normal

mode setting.

„ Press the [REC/STOP] button for approximately two

consecutive seconds.

• Recording will be stopped.

Enables the start and stop operations when recording to be

controlled by signals input to the [EXT REC IN] terminal on the

rear panel, instead of the [REC/STOP] button.

1. Set the [EXT REC IN] setting to [TRIGGER] or

[MANUAL]. (See page 49)

„ When the [EXT REC IN] is set at [TRIGGER]

• Normal recording is started when the [EXT REC IN]

terminal is just set to MAKE state.

• If the terminal is in OPEN state, normal recording is

continued.

• Press the [REC/STOP] button for approximately two

consecutive seconds to stop recording.

„ When the [EXT REC IN] is set at [MANUAL]

• Normal recording is executed while the [EXT REC IN]

terminal is in MAKE state.

• Recording is stopped when the [EXT REC IN] terminal is

in OPEN state.

• Press the [REC/STOP] button for approximately two

consecutive seconds to stop recording.

The status of the recording can be examined during recording

with the use of the indicator lamps and the signals output from

the [REC OUT] terminal.

Making Normal Recordings

STANDARD MODE

REC PATTERN 1 to 9

The contents from the start to the end of recording are
saved on the hard disk as a single event.

The [REC] indicator on the front panel will be
illuminated during recording if the [REC INDICATOR]
setting on the [OPERATION] screen is set at “ON”.

It is possible to set the operations that are to be
performed when the hard disk and event runs out of
space with the [REPEAT REC] setting on the
[OPERATION] screen. When the [REPEAT REC]
setting is set at “ALARM LOCK” or “ALL”, recordings
will be written over the oldest recordings to enable
operations to continue. (See “Operation Setup” on
page 32)

The maximum number of events that can be recorded
is approximately 100,000.
A message will be displayed on the screen when the
number of events that can be recorded (event capacity)
runs low. (See page 97)
