SEARCHING FOR CHANNELS (CHANNEL SEARCH)

The



buttons allow you to select different sets of parameters for the search.

Satellite

Use the



buttons to select the satellite on which the transponder you wish to search is located.

Make sure your reception system is aligned to the selected satellite. You can search only one
transponder at a time. If you wish to search several transponders on a satellite, you should start an
automatic search of the transmitting satellite.

Press the



button to move to the next selection item.

Transponder Frequency

Use the



buttons (transponder frequency already saved) or the number buttons (transponder

frequency not yet saved) to select the transponder frequency on which the channel being sought is
transmitted. At the bottom right of the screen display, the receiver shows the current signal strength and
signal quality of the selected transponder.

Press the



button to move to the next selection item.

The selection items: DVB Type, FEC, Polarisation and Symbol Rate need be entered only if the
transponder has yet to be saved.

DVB Type

Press the



buttons to select whether the search should be for standard channels (DVB-S (SD))

or for HDTV channels (DVB-S2 (HDTV)).

FEC

Press the



buttons to select the applicable error rate (Viterbi rate). There is no need to enter the

error rate when searching for standard channels. Instead a fi xed display of “Automatic” appears. When
searching for HDTV channels you must enter the correct error rate (either QPSK 1/2, 2/3, 3/4, 3/5,
4/5, 5/6, 8/9, 9/10 or 8PSK 2/3, 3/4, 3/5, 5/6, 8/9, 9/10).

Polarisation

Press the



buttons to select the correct polarisation (horizontal or vertical).

Symbol Rate
Use the number buttons to enter the related symbol rate.

Channel Search Mode

Use the



buttons to select whether you wish to search “free & scrambled”, “free channels only”

or “scrambled only” channels.

To view scrambled channels you need the appropriate CA (Conditional Access) module
and a valid smart card together with a valid subscription to the relevant pay TV provider.

button to move to the next selection item.
