5.12 Replacing the Azimuth Belt

1. Cut and discard the old belt.

2. Cut the tie-wraps securing the spare belt to the antenna

frame.

3. Carefully work the spare belt around the azimuth motor

hub and around the azimuth pulley. Ensure that the teeth
are on the inside of the belt. Once the belt is in place,
work it back and forth to ensure that the belt is aligned
and the teeth are engaged with the pulley and motor hub.
Ensure that the belt fits tightly around the pulley and hub.
(To tighten the belt, loosen the azimuth motor’s #8-32
locking nuts, slide the motor until the belt is tight, then
retighten the locking nuts.)
