3-21 Switching still pictures of DVD
AUDIO (DV-5900M only)

When a DVD AUDIO (AOTT: Audio Only Title) disc
containing the recording of still pictures is played, the
still pictures can be displayed. (The operation may be
restricted with certain discs.)

To switch the still pictures, press the PAGE

% or PAGE

fi button on the remote during playback.

÷ Press the RETURN button to switch to the home

still picture.

3-22 Switching the sequential play
mode

The player is capable of sequential playback using the
400-disc stocker disc changer. If a DVD and/or VCD is
mixed in the discs to be played sequentially, the
sequential playback may stall in the middle while the
menu remains displayed. In such a case, switch the
sequential play mode of the player.

Set the sequential play mode of the player to "Sequential
On
" using the remote as described below. The DVD
VIDEO playback will be skipped in order not to interrupt
the sequential playback.

(The display shows "SKIP DVD-V" to indicate this.)

When playing a VCD with menu playback or playing a
DVD VIDEO, set the sequential play mode of the player
to "Sequential Off".

Operation procedure

1.

Set the player to normal play mode (Track mode).

÷ Set the player to stop mode.

2.

Each press of SEQ. button switches the sequential
play mode of the player alternately.

÷ The “SEQUENTIAL” indicator lights.
÷ With a DVD AUDIO disc containing the recording

of menu, menu playback is not available.

÷ With a P.B.C.-compatible VCD, playback is

performed by switching P.B.C. automatically to off.

÷ When the sequential play mode is changed,

"Sequential Off" or "Sequential On" is displayed
on the TV screen.

3-23 Repeat playback

Repeat playback allows you to play the desired audio or
video repeatedly.

Operation procedure

Press the REPEAT button during playback to display the
"MAIN" OSD. Each further press of the button switches
the repeat icons as shown.

÷ This function may be unavailable with certain discs.
÷ If the on-screen message or OSD is displayed

outside the TV screen when using a widescreen TV
or similar monitoring device, set the "OSD
Position
" setting to "Cinema".

÷ When the player is set to the repeat play mode, the

"REPEAT" indicator in the display lights up. The
character information display also shows the repeat
mode information for a few seconds.

÷ This operation is not available with a DVD with

which the elapsed play time information is not
displayed.

÷ Repeat playback may also be unavailable during

P.B.C. playback of VCD.
