10. Service

Safety First

Before working on the dryer:

1. Switch OFF and lock the power isolator.

2. Switch OFF and lock the fuel supply.

3. Keep the keys in the possession.

4. Augers and drives may be under tension. Keep hands clear and release tension with tools.

5. Reconnect the power and fuel ONLY when all guards are correctly refitted.

Seasonal Inspection/Service

1. Inspect all upper, lower and fan/heater controls for damage, foreign materials and loose connections.

Clean, replace and repair as needed. Damaged wires must be replaced. Do not tape or
shorten/splice.

2. Check fan blades are free, clean and undamaged.

3. Check fan bearings for free play. Side play is an indication of defective motor bearings, which must

be replaced.

4. Check motor mount bolts are tight.

5. Lubricate motor bearings.

6. Under normal usage have the motor cleaned, checked and bearings repacked by an authorized

service station every three (3) seasons. If the unit is operated continuously, this should be
performed annually.

7. Remove and clean the fuel line strainers. System should be purged first.

8. Inspect burner for foreign material. Clean if required.

9. Clean and adjust spark plugs. Ignitor gap should be 1/4" (3 mm).

10. Inspect flame sensors for damage or poor connections. Replace wire if damaged.

11. Inspect and manually rotate the top auger paddle assembly. The paddle unit must rotate freely

without any indication of sticking or binding.

12. Inspect the top auger and bottom auger drives adjustment and condition. Readjust belt tension

as required.

13. Operate dryer clean out levers, and clean out hatch mechanism for proper operation. Remove any

accumulation of material from the bottom auger trough area.

NOTE: Do not allow high moisture material to collect within the trough area. It may adversely affect

metal parts.

The 7" meter rolls will need the meter roll pans dumped or cleared. Remove the hair pin and push
the lever upward to tilt the pans as shown. This allows any grain on the pans to dump into the unload
auger.
