10 Position and sequence of cuts

10.1 Planning the cuts

Determining the removal direction

Removal of the cut section must be possible

without any hazards. Ensure that these

sections do not fall over the cordoned area.

It may be necessary to make conical cuts to

enable simple removal of the section from the

opening.

Take the statics of the building into account

Wire sawing work must often be performed

under difficult conditions. The resulting loose

concrete sections are very heavy. For this

reason wire sawing work must be performed in

close collaboration with statics experts.

Rounding the walls

The wire should not be routed over very sharp

edges. Such edges must be rounded to a

minimum value of R=10 cm prior to cutting.
