10.2 Sequence of cuts

Preventing trapping of the wire

The last cut must be positioned so that the cut-

out section does not trap the wire.

Wire sawing is much less difficult with regard

to trapping of the tool (wire) than sawing with a

diamond cutting blade, as the diamond wire

continuously cuts itself free.

However, we still recommend the following

sequence of cuts: The lower, horizontal cut

should be made first, as the wire is then

exposed to least risk of trapping when the cut

section drops into the cut.

The subsequent cuts involve less risk and can

therefore be made in any sequence.
