Testing an Interface Card
The Switch Diagnostics dialog ( Figure 2-26 ) allows you to test and verify
operational status of switches. To open the Switch Diagnostic dialogs, open the
Switch menu, select Switch Diagnostics > Offline Switch Diagnostics. Two
types of disruptive tests are available:
 Offline Test (internal)—a disruptive test that exercises all port connections
between the ASIC and the SerDes chip for an interface card in the
diagnostics state.
 Connectivity Tests (internal)—a disruptive test that exercises all port
connections between the ASIC and the SerDes chip and all inter-port
connections for an interface card in the diagnostics state.
When you run an offline or connectivity test, the switch is put into the diagnostics
state for you. The switch does not return to its original state until the Switch
Diagnostics dialog closes, which initiates a disruptive reset.

To test an interface card, do the following:
1. Open the Switch menu and select Switch Diagnostics > Offline Switch
Diagnostics.
2. Select the test type in the drop-down list.
