IP ADDRESS DHCP
Syntax
ip address DHCP
Parameters
DHCP
Indicates the DHCP client is used to obtain an IP address for
this interface.
Description
Use the IP ADDRESS DHCP command to allow an DHCP server to assign
an IP address to an interface. You can enable DHCP on a port or on a
VLAN.
Command Mode
Interface Configuration mode
Examples
The following commands set VLAN 1 with an IP address obtained by the
DHCP server:
switch#configure terminal
switch(config)#interface vlan1
switch(config-if)#ip address dhcp
The following commands set port 4 with an IP address obtained by the
DHCP server:
switch#configure terminal
switch(config)#interface ge4
switch(config-if)#ip address dhcp
