Using Quick Start

Quick start enables you to quickly re-activate the camera when it is in
standby mode (

p.116).

What is Standby Mode?

Standby mode is an intermediate state between being turned on and being

turned off. The systems needed to start up are still active, but all other

systems are shut down.
Setting [QUICK START] to [ON] allows you to switch between standby

mode and quick start operation.

1. From the setup menu (

p.36), select [QUICK START] .

Use the jog dial to select [QUICK START] and then press the OK ( )

button.

2. Select [ON].

Use the jog dial to select [ON] and then press the OK ( ) button.

ATTENTION

In standby mode, the camera uses more battery charge than when it is

turned off.
In standby mode, the lens barrier stays open for faster startup. Take

care not to touch or damage the lens.

ON:

Standby is used for faster camera startup.

OFF:

Standby is not used.
