File Configuration

When you connect the camera to a PC, images shot using the camera

appear as follows:
[XXXTOSHI]
This denotes that the images in the folder were

shot using a Toshiba camera.
A folder number between 100 and 999 is

allocated according to the circumstances.
Still images
File names are in the GSC_XXXX.jpg format

(where XXXX is a number between 0001 and

9999). The “.jpg” file extension indicates that the
image is a JPEG-format (

p.156) file.

Photographed images are saved in the Exif format (

p.156).

Videos (with sound)
File names are in the GSC_XXXX.mpg format (where XXXX is a number

between 0001 and 9999).
The “.mpg” file extension indicates that the file is an MPEG type (

p.156)

of file.
System files
The “.xml” and “.ifx” file extensions indicate that the file contains information

on the connection between the camera and the PC.

Disconnecting the Camera from the PC

1. Click the

icon at the bottom right of the PC screen.

On the desktop, click the

icon in the task tray at the bottom right of

the screen.
Then proceed as directed by the on-screen messages.

2. Disconnect the USB cable.

IMPORTANT

“.xml” and “.ifx” files contain album information.

Deleting an “.xml” or “.ifx” file will cause part of the software to

malfunction. Do not delete “.xml” or “.ifx” files.
There is one “.ifx” file for each video. Videos without an “.ifx” file cannot

be played on the camera.
