Using a Conversion Lens

A conversion lens (sold separately) mounted on the front of the lens

narrows or broadens the field of view. Use conversion lenses for more

distant or more wide-angle shooting.
1. Mount a conversion lens.

Mount the conversion lens by rotating it in the direction of the arrow.

With a telephoto conversion lens

The lens filter diameter is 43 mm. Any third-party conversion lens with

the same filter diameter can be used.
Note the information below when mounting a conversion lens on the

camera. You should also remove the conversion lens in certain

circumstances.

Conversion lenses obstruct the light from the flash (

p.59) and AF

assist light (

p.82) so that they are ineffective.

The remote control (

p.18) may not operate correctly.

Set [IMAGE STABILIZATION] (

p.77) to [OFF].

The camera may have difficulty auto focusing or the distances

displayed for the shooting range (

p.xii) and manual focus may be

incorrect.
At some zoom settings, the corners of the image may darken or the

conversion lens itself may appear in the image.
