8.2. PC based Programming
For programming, connect EasyGate UMTS Data to a PC with a serial cable and
make sure that the EasyGate UMTS Data PCManager is installed. Programming is
intuitive and easy. All steps are accompanied with texts hints above all items you point
at with the mouse.
EasyGate UMTS Data data uploading and storing, including firmware upgrade, are
executed in a special mode, in which EasyGate UMTS Data waits for about 3s after
power up (all LEDs are on). If instructed so by the PCManager during this timeout,
EasyGate UMTS Data remains in this mode as long as it is necessary. If EasyGate
UMTS Data is not reset after the PCManager is terminated, switch the system off and
on again.
8.2.1. Basic Programming Instructions
1. Run the PCManager and select the language for displaying texts on the right-hand
side.
2. Click on the CD-ROM icon for data handling on the left-hand side.
3. Load data from EasyGate UMTS Data – if EasyGate UMTS Data is not in its special
programming mode, you are invited to switch EasyGate UMTS Data off and on
again.
4. Click on the programming table icon on the left-hand side.
5. The parameters are arranged according to their functions in the tables. Set all
parameters you want to change. If you point at a parameter with the mouse, help is
displayed.
6. Click on the CD-ROM icon again for handling data.
