2 PCA Communication Software

2.1

Purpose

The PCA Communication Software PCC is used for connecting a PC to a pa-
perless recorder or a controller with recording function in order to transfer
registration data from the device to the PC.

Depending on the device and the PC, different interfaces are available for data
transfer, e. g. serial interface, USB, Ethernet.

Data recorded in the device can be readout manually or automatically (time-
controlled), even from several devices at the same time. All devices and set-
tings are administered in a device list. Several device lists can be created, thus
it is possible to assign devices to different machine lines.

Recording data readout from a device are available in an archive file for eva-
luation with PC Evalution Software PCA3000.

The PCA Communication Software PCC also offers a teleservice function.
With the teleservice the current process data of a device are displayed in a se-
parate window. Data of several devices can be displayed at the same time.

Every action performed in the PCA Communication Software PCC is logged
by the PC Audit Trail Manager PCAT.
