8.4.4 Start as service

Starts PCC as a Windows system service.

This function makes it possible to run PCC without the Windows user being
logged in. In this manner, PCC starts as soon as the PC is turned on or
restarted without a user having logged in.

The user name and password must still be entered in this case, however,
because as a system service, PCC requires a valid user context to be able to
access various user settings (for example the default archive directory).

The user who makes the settings for the system service requires administrator
rights. The user in whose context the system service is running can have
restricted user rights.

Remove
service

The currently running system service is terminated.

At the same time PCC is removed as a system service, so that it will not run
the next time the PC is turned on or restarted.

Exit service

The currently running system service is terminated.

The next time the PC is turned on or restarted, PCC will be started again as a
system service.

H

If PCC still cannot be started as a service even with administrator
rights, the reason may be lack of authorization for starting system
services.

Please contact the PC administrator.
