FIELD TEST

Perform a field test with any change of field and/or planting conditions, seed size or planter adjustment to ensure
proper seed placement and operation of row units.

Check planter for front to rear and lateral level operation. See

“Level Planter” on page 2-8

Check

all row units to be certain they are running level. Row unit parallel arms should be approximately parallel to

the ground when planting.

Check row markers for proper operation and adjustment. See

Drive Chain Alignment

1. Tie up one or more sets of closing wheels by running

a chain or rubber tarp strap between the hopper support

panel and closing wheels. It may be necessary to decrease

closing wheel arm spring tension.

2. Plant a short distance and check to see if seed is

visible in the seed trench. Adjust planting depth to a

shallower setting if seed is not visible and recheck.
