Problem Solving

If you are having difficulties starting WinCue Pro News or have any other problems it is

often a good idea to check your WinCue Pro News IMT card and your SCSI card to
ensure that they are set-up correctly. The following sections will talk you through

possible IMT and SCSI problems and how to fix them.

13.1.1

Laptop systems (Slim SCSI 1460a)

If, when starting WinCue Pro News, the initialisation stops at 42% the problem is
caused by the version of the Windows SCSI driver (sparrow.mpd), which is located in:

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\IOSUBSYS\

The version needed to correct the problem is:

SPARROW.MPD = 17K, 24/08/1996

This file can be obtained from Autocue or from your Windows installation CD. DO NOT
USE THE ADAPTEC DRIVERS.

13.1.2

Laptop systems (USB Devices)

If you want to use a USB SCSI device you must have the latest version 2.00 ROMs
installed on your I.M.T card and you must have a Windows 2000 compatible version
of WinCue Pro News.

Remember USB devices are not supported in Windows NT4.

To install the SCSI device, follow the manufacturers instructions for installing the

device.

Before you start up your Windows machine make sure that your USB device is

connected to an available USB port and that the other end is connected to the SCSI
port on the IMT case.

Remember to switch on the IMT cast before you start up the

computer.

When your computer starts up it will detect the IMT card and it will be

displayed in the Windows device manager.
