If the SCSI card is slow to initialise, for example, during boot up’s it waits at “Adaptec
aha-2940 scsi bios vX.XX.X”, or if you get the message “device connected but not

ready”, then you must down grade the SCSI card bios.

If the message “Fatal: WinCue Pro News could not find your hardware” appears,

then you have not installed the SCSI card or it’s drivers or you have not plugged in
your SCSI cable.

13.1.4 Desktop

systems

(2906)

If, when starting WinCue Pro News, the initialisation stops at 10% the problem is

caused by the version of the Windows driver for the Adaptec 'aic78xx.mpd'

This is located in: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\IOSUBSYS\

The version needed to correct the problem is: AIC78xx.MPD = 31K, 24/08/1996, this

can be obtained from Autocue CD. DO NOT USE THE ADAPTEC DRIVERS

If the message “Fatal: WinCue Pro News could not find your hardware” appears,

then you have not installed the SCSI card or it’s drivers or you have not plugged in
your SCSI cable.
