To activate backup mode, DIP switch 4 should be moved to the ON position, see
the POS4000 Interface Board Wiring Diagram in the back of this manual for the
location and setting of the DIP switches.

There are 3 passwords that provide access to the programming features of the
backup mode. While the interface board is in backup mode, typing one of the
passwords at the customer keypad will cause the interface board to enter a
programming mode and then wait for the appropriate data to be typed at the
customer keypad.
