Assembling Wide Loaded Drills
Drills which have shipped as a WIDE LOAD should be
completely assembled except for press wheel arms, press
wheels, walkboards and reflector decals. Refer to the fol-
lowing four sections and disregard the other assembly in-
structions.
Installing the Press Wheel Arms
Refer to Figure 1-1. The bolts and pivot bushings for as-
sembling the press wheel arms and press wheels are
shipped with the press wheel arms at the locations where
they are to be used. Remove the 1/2" x 3 3/4" long flange
bolt (#1) and 1/2" flange lock nut (#4) from each press
wheel arm pivot. Leave the pivot bushing (#2) in place and
bolt the press wheel arm (#3) to the opener with the 1/2" x
3 3/4" long flange bolt (#1) and 1/2" flange lock nut (#4). Do
this for all the wing frame openers.
Installing the Press Wheels
Refer back to Figure 1-1. Remove the 5/8" bolt (#5) from
the back of each wing frame press wheel arm (#3) and use
it to assemble the press wheel (#6) to the press wheel arm.
Installing the Wing Walkboards
Refer to Figure 1-2. Remove the 1/2" x 1 3/4" long bolts
(#1) and steps (#2) from the outboard end panels of the
drill. Remove the 1/2" x 1 1/4" long bolts (#3) from the inner

end panel of each wing section. Bolt the walkboards (#4)
to the box support channels. Use the 1/2" x 1 1/4" long
bolts (#3), 1/2"lock washers, and 1/2" hex nuts on the inner
ends of the walkboards. Use the 1/2" x 1 3/4" long bolts
(#1), 1/2" lock washers, and 1/2" hex nuts to bolt on the
step (#2) and walkboard (#4) on at the outer ends of the
walkboards. The steps (#2) are not interchangeable. They
should jog away from the end panel of the drill and extend
back when bolted to the correct end of the drill.
Installing the Reflector Decals
Refer to Figure 1-3. Assemble the amber reflector decals
(#1) and red reflector decals (#2) to the walkboards. The
wing walkboards have an amber reflector (#1) on the out-
side end and a red reflector (#2) on the inside end of the
drill with amber reflectors (#1) on the backside of the walk-
boards. The center walkboard has amber reflectors (#1)
on both ends. The center box has a daytime reflector (#3)
on each side.
