Basic User Guide

Field

Description / Action

Block

Identifies the tissue block from which the sample was taken.

Tissue Type

Click the arrow to the right of the field to select the tissue type.

Deparaffinization Select this field if the slide requires deparaffinized. Otherwise, leave

it blank.

Side drying

Select this field if the slide requires both drying and deparaffinized.

Otherwise, leave it blank.

Slide notes

Place your cursor in the field and type or edit comments about the

slide. These comments appear on the slide report.


3. Click

Save to save the changes, or Cancel to exit without saving the changes.

Delete One or More Slides

1. Select (highlight) the slide(s) you want to delete.
2. Click the

Delete slide button. You are prompted to confirm your decision.

3. Click

Yes. The slide is deleted from the list.

Note:

A slide record is not stored in the database until you complete the case and

the slide is transferred to the Workflow tab. If you delete the slide in the

Workflow list, the slide record does remain in the database for historical

purposes, but the slide cannot be placed onto a stainer; it will be rejected by

the instrument.

Step 4: Print and Apply Slide Labels

Note

: The content and requirements for a slide label are defined by the

Administrator in the

Label configuration dialog box. To customize the

labels, see the DakoLink Advanced User Guide.

Once you have added the slides for the case and are satisfied with the specified processing, print

slide labels and affix them to the slides. You can:

Print all labels simultaneously

Print a label for a specific slide

Note:

Slide records that have not had labels printed are highlighted in

yellow.

Once the slide label has been printed, the yellow is removed.
