Configuring for AIS Data

An Automatic Identification System (AIS) Transceiver transmits and receives AIS
NMEA sentences. Jeppesen Workboat Navigator interprets and displays AIS target
data, providing you with the ability to make safer navigation decisions in shorter
periods of time.
Jeppesen Workboat Navigator displays an on-screen mark for all AIS-compliant
boats within radio range, including each boat's velocity vector. Click on each boat's
icon to learn boat name, course and speed, classification, call sign, registration
number, MMSI Number, and other AIS information being transmitted by the boat.

Start Jeppesen Workboat Navigator.
Open System Menu | Tools/Settings | Options | Ports: Configure.
In the Input Ports column, place a check-mark next to the COM Port your AIS
device is connected to.
Click Configure This Input Port...
Select the AIS sentences only radio button.

Click OK.
In the Output column, place a check-mark next to the COM Port your AIS device
is connected to.

NOTE:

Always select the same Input and Output COM ports for this device.
