Backup
3 - System Backup and Recovery
Workboat Navigator provides a utility that allows you to back up your current system
settings and return to a prior state of the software. When you run the Workboat
Navigator Backup and Recovery utility from the Start menu on your Desktop, your
current registry and configuration files are replaced. Please be aware the recovery
is a complete replacement of your system files and will result in the loss of any
changes made to your boat, tow, and options settings that followed the creation of
the backup used.
Backing Up Workboat Navigator
Close Workboat Navigator before running the utility. If you try to run the utility
with Workboat Navigator open, an error message appears. From the Start
menu on your Desktop, select Programs | Jeppesen Marine | Support Tools |
Workboat Navigator Backup & Recovery.
Select the Backup Workboat Navigator radio button from the Select the task
you would like to perform field.
Click Next.
Type a description for this backup under Backup Description. The description is
optional but may help you identify archives when you need to recover them.
Click Backup.
Once the backup completes, a Backup Successful message appears. If the
backup does not complete successfully, an error message appears noting the
files that were missing from the manifest.
Click Finish.
Recovering Workboat Navigator
Close Workboat Navigator before running the utility. If you try to run the utility
with Workboat Navigator open, an error message appears. From the Start
menu on your Desktop, select Programs | Jeppesen Marine | Support Tools |
Workboat Navigator Backup & Recovery.
Select the Recover Workboat Navigator radio button from the Select the task
you would like to perform field.
Click Next.
Select the backup file you wish to restore from the list of previous backups.
REMEMBER:
Recovery is a complete replacement of your system files and will
result in the loss of any changes made to your boat, tow, and options settings
that followed the creation of the backup used.
Click Recover.
After the recovery completes, a Recovery Successful message appears.
Click Finish.
TIP:
In the window that lists the archives, select archives you no longer need
and press
V
to remove them. A confirmation message appears before the
archive is deleted.
