EXPOSURE
An image is formed on the film frame when the
semi disc-shaped rotating shutter exposes the
frame to the light coming through the lens.
When the shutter rotates to cover the frame, the
film is being transported by the film drive
mechanism to the next frame. The length of
time that the light is allowed to strike the film
depends on the filming speed and the shutter
opening angle. The amount of light that is
allowed to strike the film is controlled by the
diaphragm which consists of blades which open
and close to certain size apertures (openings).
These apertures are given numerical values
called f/stops. A smaller number indicates a
larger aperture, which lets more light in, and is
called a large f/stop. A large number indicates a
smaller aperture and is called a small f/stop.
AE Dial
This is an AE (automatic exposure) camera.
Once you set the filming speed and the shutter
opening angle, the camera automatically con
