Discrete power ON and power OFF IR commands are used when programming macro
commands into universal remotes. Using an ON-only or OFF-only command is more
effective than a toggle ON/OFF command when trying to make sure the dish antenna is
reliably in one state or the other. To send a discrete power ON or OFF command, use the
following steps:

1

Program the remote control to control all the devices that you would like to control.

2

Press SAT until all the Mode buttons light up.

3

Press POWER.

4

Press VOLUME UP for discrete power on. Press VOLUME DOWN for discrete power off.

5

Press any button to end this procedure.

Q

UESTIONS

My remote doesn’t control my receiver or other components. What should I do?

Put the remote control is in the correct mode.

Check the batteries.

Check the remote control address.

Check or adjust the UHF antenna.

Why does my receiver change channels or display menus at random? Your
neighbor may have their remote control set on the same address. Change the
address on your remote control and receiver. If that doesn’t help, you may have to
install a UHF attenuator.
