T - PRINT CARD TOTALS

This command is used to monitor operation of the MCE 300. There are three totals maintained.
They are:

TOTAL PASSES THROUGH THE READER - This is used for maintenance of the unit. It will give

you the number of times a card has passed over the heads of the reader for encoding or
reading. This counter will increment by two for cards that are encoded, and by one for
cards that are read. This counter must be reset at the factory.

TOTAL CARDS ENCODED - This provides an additional security feature for the unit. Each time a

card is encoded by the MCE 300, the count will increment by one. If this count is printed
at the end of a card encoding session and rechecked prior to the next session, you can
tell if any cards were encoded during the interim. This counter must be reset at the
factory.

TOTAL CARDS IN DATA FILE - This provides a count of the number of cards presently stored in

the card data file. This count is incremented by one for each card added to the file and
decremented by one for each card deleted from the file. When the card data file is reset,
this count is also reset to zero.

To print card totals:

At an asterisk (*) prompt

1.

Enter the T command

If an optional printer is available, you will be prompted:

SEND TO AUX PRINTER (Y/N)?

2. Entering a "Y" will cause the card totals to be printed on the optional printer (AUX port).

Entering an "N" will cause the card totals to be printed on the data terminal (MAIN port).

The unit will respond with the card totals.
