Replacing the Power Supply

Note: The 760W power supply is an N+1 redundant power supply,

where N=2. This power supply comprises three 380W
independently powered modules. These modules may be
replaced without removing the cover. The third power supply
provides fail-over redundancy, and is hot-swappable.

If either of the active power supply modules fail, the backup module
will take the full load and allow the system to continue operation
without interruption. The PWR Fail LED will illuminate and remain on
until the failed unit has been replaced.

You do not need to shut down the system to replace a power supply
unit. The redundant feature will keep the system up and running while
you replace the failed hot-swap unit. Replace with the same model
(Visara p/n 53932-001).

Accessing the 760W Power Supply

Caution: Before removing a power supply module, unplug the AC

power cord first from the AC power source then from the
power supply module.

Procedures

1. Locate the release tab on the left side of the power supply.
2. Push the release tab to the right to release the power supply from

its locking position as shown below:

3. Once the power supply module is released from its locking

position, remove it from the chassis.
