4.7 Wireless Security Settings

To prevent unauthorized radios from accessing data transmitting over the connectivity, WAP-7500

provides you with rock solid security settings.

4.7.1 Security Profile Configuration

Open “Security” in “Wireless” as below:

Broadcast SSID

Hiding network name is necessary when you are in a wireless environment that may have potential

risk. By using this function, the STA cannot scan and find WAP-7500, so that malicious attack by

some illegal STA could be avoided.

Network Authentication

Open

: It allows any device to join the network without performing any security check.

Shared Key

: Data encryption and key are required for wireless authentication before association.

(Only available in BS and CPE mode)

WPA-PSK

: It is a simplified WPA mode with no need for specific authentication server. In this

so-called WPA Pre-Shared Key, all you have to do is just pre-enter a key in each WLAN node and
