10. Test diode D1 for proper operation.
a.
Measure the resistance of diode D1 from the
anode (+ probe) to the cathode (- probe) using
an analog volt-ohm meter (Multimeter) set at R
X 1000 scale. Resistance should be low. See
Figure F.7.
b.
Reverse the meter leads and measure the
resistance from the cathode (+ probe) to anode
(- probe) of D1.
Resistance should be High.
See Figure F.7.
c.
If the resistance is low for both tests a and b,
the diode is shorted. Replace.
d.
If the resistance is high for both test a and b, the
diode is open. Replace.
11. Test Diodes D2, D3, D4 & D5 for proper operation
using the same procedure described in Step 10.
NOTE: Diodes D1, D2 & D3 do not need to be discon-
nected for this test.
12. Reconnect all leads and Molex plugs disconnected
for this test.
13. If these tests did not identify the problem or to fur-
ther test the SCR’s, go to the
