Removing Misfed Paper

When a paper misfeed occurs, an er-
ror message appears on the panel dis-
play. The procedure you should
follow to remove the misfed paper
depends on the location of the mis-
feed, which is indicated on the panel
display.

R CAUTION:

Important

❒ More than one misfed area might

be indicated. In this case, check ev-
ery applicable area. See the follow-
ing illustration.

The symbols “E”, “R” and “Z” in
the illustration above are not used
in the error message. They are sub-
stituted as follows:
E

⇒ mailbox

R

⇒ finisher

Z

⇒ duplex unit

❒ If paper continues to misfeed,

check the following points.
• Confirm that the setting of the

paper size dial matches the size
and feed direction of the paper
loaded in the paper tray.

• Confirm that the paper tray

guides are set in place.

• Confirm that the top of the stack

is not higher than the limit mark
indicated on the tray guide.

❒ If a paper misfeed still occurs, con-

tact your sales or service represen-
tative.

❒ Do not leave any torn paper scraps

within the printer.

When "Misfeed: A" Appears

A

B

Remove the misfed paper from
inside of lower right cover 1.

Note

inside the cover, slide out the

When removing misfed paper,
