1.Turn on workstation

modem.

2.Check modem connection

at wall jack.

modem phone
line being used
by fax machine.

2. Bad connection

between modem
and wall jack.

3. Faulty phone line.

1.If fax is being used by same

phone line as connection
module modem, wait for
fax machine and retry
connection.

2.Check modem connection

at wall jack.

3.Inspect phone line.
