Mounting and installation - False echoes
Strong product movements
Heavy turbulences in the vessel, e.g. by
strong stirrers or strong chemical reactions
influence the measurement. A surge or
bypass pipe (figure) of sufficient size allows,
provided that the product causes no build-
up in the pipe, always a reliable
measurement even with strong turbulences in
the vessel.
Products which can cause slight build-up
can be measured by using a meas. pipe with
100 mm nominal width and more. In a meas.
pipe of this size, slight build-up is not a
problem.

If the radar sensor is mounted too close to
the vessel wall, build-up on the vessel walls
causes false echoes. Position the radar
sensor in a sufficient distance to the vessel
wall. Also note chapter "4.1 General
installation instructions".
