The best way to understand how to use Global Rules is to start with a simple example.
Suppose we wanted to define a trigger that would be issued whenever a CRC error was
detected on any channel.
We would bring up the Triggering/Filtering screen (via the Setup menu, selecting
Recording Options (Avalanche)..., then clicking the Triggering/Filtering tab), as
follows:
Under Global Rules, click on the "<Click here to add an event>" link. A list of available
events appears. Click on the Event Type "Error", and the following screen appears:
