* If using CHAP with a single node only, use the initiator node name as the CHAP name.

If a CHAP name uses multi-byte characters, the server must be configured with the IQN name.

You must create the server first and then edit that server to add the CHAP name:

1.

Create a new server and select CHAP not required, and enter the IQN.

2.

Select CHAP required and enter the CHAP information.

3.

Click OK. The server is created with both CHAP and the IQN information.

You can also edit an existing server to add the IQN if necessary:

1.

Log off the target in the iSCSI initiator.

2.

In the CMC, navigate to the server. Right-click and select Edit Server.

3.

In the Authentication section, select CHAP not required and enter the IQN in the Initiator Node
Name field.

4.

Select CHAP required and click OK.

5.

Reconnect the volume in the iSCSI initiator.

iSCSI and CHAP terminology
