3.4 Sample determination
Following the calibration of the IC system as described in section 3.3
the first sample solution can be injected.
1 Start determination
⇒ Click on <Start> or select Start determination of the Control
menu in the system window. An empty chromatogram win-
dow opens where the baseline is recorded continuously. The
message Initialisation [790 COM#] appears in the SYSTEM
STATE window. Then the Edit sample description window is
opened automatically.
2 Enter information for determination
⇒ Enter the desired information concerning the sample in the
Edit sample description window and confirm with <OK> . Set Ca-
libration level to 0 and confirm with <OK> .
3 Switch injection valve to "FILL" position
⇒ Click on the button of the 790 icon in the system
window to switch the injection valve to the "FILL" position. At
the same time, the suppressor module is switched to the next
position.
4 Fill sample loop
⇒ Immerse the aspirating tubing 23 23 23 23 in the vessel containing the
drinking water sample.
⇒ Using the syringe fixed to the syringe tubing 25 25 25 25, siphon in ca.
1 mL drinking water.
