The results in Table 3-3, show that load cells one and three must be adjusted down to read 4990 lb (1996 kg in the
metric example). First, the potentiometer for load cell one is turned to bring the reading down (step 6).

example) and check for a zero shift.

The unloaded reading is found to be –5 lb (-2 kg), indicating a zero shift. The scale must therefore be rezeroed, and
load cell three checked again.
