3. Getting Started

3.1. Pre-requisites

Prior to configuring a communications module, ensure the unit is powered on and connected to the network.

The Communications Module can be configured from a computer with either a TCP/IP network connection or
a DB-9 Serial port. The communications module supports straight-through serial connections for basic
programming. For access to the full configurable feature set, a modern web browser will be required.

The communications module currently supports access from:

Internet Explorer 8 or greater

Firefox 3.5 or greater

3.2. Configuration Using the Web GUI

1.

Ensure both the communications module and your PC are connected to the Local Area Network. A direct
connection to the communications module will require the use of a crossover network cable.

WEBS-CM-2, WEBS-PA-1 and WEBS-PA-2-IP are pre-configured with the following default settings:

IP Address:

192.168.1.10

Username:

admin

Password:

admin@123

2.

Configure the IP address of your PC to be on the same subnet as the communications module. For
example, 192.168.1.3

3.

Open a supported web browser and direct it to the IP address of the communications module. For
example, enter the following URL:

http://192.168.1.10

.

The browser prompts for authentication:
