Troubleshooting the Alarm Cards

The Cisco XR 12406 router uses two alarm cards to monitor the status of the
CSCs and SFCs and to indicate various alarm conditions. The alarm cards have
four primary functions:

Redundant generation of the DC MBus supply voltage for the line cards

Power system monitoring functions

OK/FAIL status indication of the CSCs and SFCs

Hardware implementation of the alarm system relay outputs and indicators

To help isolate a problem, you can visually check the LEDs on the alarm cards.
