6.2.2 Encapsulating the interface with PPP

Do as follows on the routers:

Step 1

Run:

system-view

The system view appears.

Step 2

Run:

interface interface-type interface-number

The interface view appears.

Step 3

Run:

link-protocol ppp

The command configures the link layer protocol as PPP.

By default, the protocol in the link layer is PPP for the serial and POS interface.

6.2.3 Enabling PPP MRU negotiation

Do as follows on the routers:

Step 1

Run:

system-view

The system view appears.

Step 2

Run:

interface interface-type interface-number

The interface view appears.

Step 3

Run:

ppp mru-negotiate { ipv4 | ipv6 }

The command enables PPP MRU negotiation.

By default, the link control layer will perform IPv4 MRU negotiation.

If you configure IPv6 MTU for an interface, you need to enable PPP IPv6 MRU negotiation.
