Characteristics of STM-1 CPOS interface

The physical port of the STM-1 CPOS interface is not a service port but a controller.
E1/T1/channels are synchronous serial interfaces that you configure in the serial interface

view. The indexing method of the interface number is four-dimension index: slot number/card
number/port number/channel number.

The STM-1 CPOS interface has the following characteristics:

Support for MPLS

The STM-1 CPOS interface of the SR8000 supports MPLS packet forwarding between
different channels as well as between channels and other service boards. For packets marked

with MPLS, the uplink supports label pop-up operation; the downlink supports label

exchanging and label adding and supports mapping between LSP token and channel number.

Support for QoS

The STM-1 CPOS interface supports to configure traffic classification policy on each channel
and MP group, supports to limit the output bandwidth of each channel and MP group by
configuring traffic queues, supports to perform outgoing traffic queue scheduling
configuration on each channel and MP group, and supports the destination port to redirect the

packets of the channel and MP group.
