7 LAPB and X.25 configuration

Networking requirements

You configure multiple sub-interfaces on a physical interface to connect multiple peers of

different network sections. In Figure 7-16, you configure Router A with two sub-interfaces

that interconnect to Router B and Router C respectively.

Configuration roadmap

The configuration roadmap is as follows:

1.

Configure interfaces protocols on each router.

2.

Configure X121 and IP addresses on each interface.

3.

Configure the address mapping.

4.

Configure the X25 switching.

Data preparation

To complete the configuration, you need the following data:

The X121 addresses of the interfaces on Router A, Router B and Router C are 100, 200

and 300 respectively.

The IP address of two sub-interfaces on Router A and that of Router B and Router C are

10.1.1.1/16, 20.1.1.1/16, 10.1.1.2/16, and 20.1.1.2/16 respectively.

Configuration procedure

Step 1

Configure Router A.

<RouterA> system-view

[RouterA] interface serial 1/0/0

[RouterA-Serial1/0/0] link-protocol x25 dte

[RouterA-Serial1/0/0] x25 x121-address 100

[RouterA-Serial1/0/0] quit

# Create the sub-interface Serial 1/0/0.1.

[RouterA-Serial1/0/0] interface serial 1/0/0.1

[RouterA-Serial1/0/0.1] ip address 10.1.1.2 255.255.0.0
