This section describes how to configure PAP unidirectional authentication.

Preconfiguration tasks

Before configuring PAP authentication, complete the following tasks:

Configuring physical attributes of the router interfaces.

Encapsulating the interface with PPP.

Do as follows on the routers:

Step 1

Run:

system-view

The system view appears.

Step 2

Run:

aaa

The AAA view appears.

Step 3

Run:

local-user user-name password { simple | cipher } password

The command adds the user name and password of the authenticated into the local user list.

Step 4

Run:

quit
